Fore!

#2 has joined his school's Golf team. He has been going to practices daily since Tuesday, and since that time he has been talking non-stop Golf. He wants to get this or that club, and an official golf shirt, a golf glove, a bag of tee's (he turned down the tea bags I offered him... go figure), golf balls, you name it. If it has anything to do with Golf, he want's to get it.

I have a strong feeling that his Christmas list this year will be dominated by these things.

He is planning to hit the lawn mowing and car washing circuit this weekend. He plans to purchase a shirt and glove Monday, and needs $23.78 (that includes the sales tax) in order to buy them. He originally wanted to go earn enough to buy a #3 club, until he discovered he needed $112 to buy a #3 club.

$112 for ONE club? Sheesh!

I'm going to be keeping my eyes open in the classified for used clubs and carrier that, if found, will make their way under the tree in December. I'm not sure where I will hide them until then... I'll worry about that later.

Golf is a great sport. My husband plays and one daughter has taken it up. It is expensive getting started, but unless one goes about hitting rocks or throwing the clubs in the water from shear frustration, they should last a good many years. :)

Have you check eBay? Can you find cheaper golf stuff there?

Sleep frequently avoids me. Sometimes, around 3 am, I'm up, jittery, and half asleep, but can't get to the 100%. So I fire up the old pc and bore myself to sleep playing solitaire.
