New Family Addition
Sat Dec 22 2001

I drove from work.
I went to do a few errands, then to the pet store for crickets for the Gecko.

I have been wanting to get a pet rat. I havent had one in about 7 yrs. I love pet rats.

So I thought? Why not? Its Christmas, I want one. Gift to Self!

The pet store was quite busy with Christmas pet shoppers.

So I got the guy to help me. Had to buy the cage, food, water bottle, cedar chips. Then this young guy came to help me. Want a large rat? medium rat? or Russian Blue?

Dang choices in rats now? What happened to RAT?

So I decided to splurge and get something different and got the lil Russian Blue. They are a sorta blue gray color.

I wanted a female, No offense, just those balls dangling on the backs of the males look scary. :)~

I got a cute lil small one. I carried her in her box to the parking lot, opened it up and placed her on my shoulder. Ahh I miss this, Have had pet rats since 5th grade, they are so sweet and affectionate.

So she ran up around my furry coat as I drove home. She was tickling the back of my hair as I was driving and giggling.

The kids were so totally excited Mommy bought a pet. They both were so happy to hold her. We are all fighting for her attn, dang I gotta share? :)

Shes adorable. Have to think of a name for her now though. Something Russian but different? Any ideas?

Ill get pictures up soon.

Love the picture! She IS a little cutie. I had two pet rats when I was a kid. One of them (a female) used to go inside my baggy sweatshirt sleeve at the cuff, go up my arm across my shoulders and out the other sleeve. She also liked to perch on my shoulder and snuggle under my long hair at the nape of the neck. My mother used to cringe. LOL. To be honest I'm not sure how I'd feel now, but I think I'd be OK as long as it wasn't one of those big ones with the fat bald tail. But then I also love snakes. :)

Ahhh! My friend Theresa had a pet rat. It really was the sweetest thing. I was scared of it at first, but quickly learned what intelligent and affectionate animals they are! I'd consider getting one.. but cats and rats don't go together I think! LOL. Have fun!!

The Cockroach Trio will now perform 'Carol of the Bells'. Fella's:

    in unison:
    ''Hark how the bells
    Sweet silver bells
    All seem to say
    Throw cares away
    Christmas is here
    Bring.....''

Bob: Damnit Joe, you're off key

Joe: I'm not off key, if you'd follow my lead we wouldn't have a problem

Bob: You're lead? I've got more experience.

Sam: Leading a group of lemmings off a bridge isn't my idea of experience Bob.

Theeoddname (manager of the Trio): We're sorry. We seem to be experiencing technical difficulties. Just leave your old pop cans and moldy trash on your way out...thank you.
