Oy, What a Day!
Wed Jul 28 2004

Today was spent running here, there and everywhere pulling together the financing for the house. We did find out that they would accept our first born in lieu of earnest money, so we are set. We will really miss #1, but we are told that we will get him back at closing

Fortunately, we are not tied into their timeline, and we set the schedule. That itself was a huge relief as it means that we can delay the process until after Hubby is done with all the trips he has for the rest of the summer. That and it gives us more time to scrap together some more cash for the move in. We crunched numbers on the calendar and found out that by doing this it will actually put us on about the schedule we had been thinking of. If all goes smoothly, and the deal does not fall through at some point, we estimate that we will be moving around Christmas or so.

Guess what kids? Santa got us a house for Christmas!

The discussions of colors, appliances, vinyl, siding, and the works have begun. We are trying to get the things we want without driving the price through the roof. Ah, the roof, we did decide to upgrade to the 30 year roof over the 20 year roof. Had it been more than a $300 difference in price I can’t say that we would have decided this, but $300 buys 10 more years on the roof. Now I just need to shuffle other features to see if I can figure a way to work in the heap filtration system for the furnace. With our allergies and various respiratory issues, we think that would be a good thing to have. Bumping up the R rating is also something that should save us dollars down the line, and was a very nominal cost for the upgrade. My head is spinning with all the choices we have to make.

Damn, the twitch is back, and we’re out of ice cream.

    Yay, a house!

You know, I am an aspiring interior designer...

    :oP

If I were in the area, I could've offered to help out. I need to learn things like this. My parents just don't see things th way I do and wouldn't let me redo the kitchen. I wasn't going to do it like I want mine to look (after Piet Mondrian's artworks). :o)
