I Got Da Blues
Sun Jul 18 2004

Somewhere in the vicinity of 3 this morning I stumbled out of bed to take Hubby to the airport. While I did return to bed after arriving home, and got a few more hours in, I am just not able to wake up today.

I know part of it is wishing Hubby didn't have to be gone, and no matter how often it does happen it doesn't get any easier.

I'm having the kids help me put together a shoping list. I instructed each of them to look through the cupboards, fridge and freezer, then let me know what they wanted for meals and snacks that we didn't already have. #1 put down 10 pounds of Reeses Peanut Butter Cups. I informed him that he will not be having that for meals, and sent him back in to re-do his list. #2 and #3 had mac & cheese, steak and peanut butter on their lists. That, at least is something I can work with!

You sure do have a way with colors. I liked the pink, but this is lovely; very soft and soothing.

Gotta laugh at #1; a boy after my own heart. I love those things. :)

Full screen feature hummmmm lol ,I'll take that lol.I have taken my hubby a ton of times now to the airport,so I know what you mean. The kids though like to pick him up at the airport, but it was much more fun when you could go to the gate to wait without having a ticket,so we just drive up and pick up now. They miss watching the planes,it was cool ,oh well.

When I visited with Yetzirah a few days ago, I ventured into her backyard garden. While admiring the flowers, I noticed a couple of ripe blackberries. Probably too ripe for your pie, but oh so yummy in the mouth!!

ahhh i suffer as you do. i take ativan to sleep. i have to give it at least an hour to begin its magic; but not too long. if you wait too long it doesnt work and i end up laying there watching the clock tick tock those precious hours away. right now it is 244 and i am wide awake, even after the dose of ativan.
one day, maybe, i will be able to go to bed at a reasonable time, and simply sleep. wouldnt that be like the best surprise christmas gift ever?

awww, sorry that hubby is going again. blackberries, mmmm, brings back some good memories of growing up on the farm and gearing up in multiple layers of clothes, gloves, hats etc to brave the prickles and collect enough for pie

p.s. thanks for asking about my back, its doing much better now :)

I have trouble with restless leg syndrome and take Klonopin for it. However, sometimes just one pill doesn't do the job, and I find myself getting up two hours later and taking another pill.

I do take it 20-30 minutes before I plan to seek the comfort of the sheets. And even then sometimes sleep doesn't come quickly.

I've found myself in front of this screen at 3am, playing solitaire until sleep begins to return. The night that I sleep the whole night thru is a rarity, and I celebrate it!

    Shalom

PS: Maybe we should put each other on our buddy list, and commiserate with each other over our sleeplessness. ;-)

well looks like your definately not alone in the sleepless stakes! me, i have no trouble GETTING to sleep, but staying there? not so much. once your meds kids in do they help you STAY asleep? i already take so many things i'd be wary of taking something else just to sleep but ooooooh how i crave a full nights sleep!
