Yesterday we took the kids to see Around the World in Eighty Days. It was a definite success with the kids. I think they all want to be Jackie Chan more than ever now! I must say I definitely like the military discount we get at the theater. It definitely saves us a chunk of change every time we go to the movies.
I’ve been longing to go riding for ages. Finding a place to go for a trail ride is no problem, but there are so many other things that are clamoring for attention and $$ that by far take precedence over frivolous spending. Maybe I can see about arranging a family trail ride sometime later in the summer.
I’ve found myself daydreaming lately about activities I engaged in before I was married. The kind of activities that exhibited a lifestyle that was less responsible than the one I have now. I woke up this morning thinking that a road trip would be a blast. Bundle hubby and I up and head north to Canada for the weekend, or take an extra long weekend and drive to Mexico for a few days. A week or so ago I woke up thinking about getting a tat. I recognize these things as being the bane of middle age, and I’m expecting Hubby to announce any day now that he is trading in his truck for a sports car (in his case it would be a 69 Mustang fastback). However, if he thinks he is trading me in for two twenties, he’s got another thing coming!
