Yard Sale
Sat Jun 12 2004

We’ve got the kids out manning the yard sale. They have the understanding that anything they earn will be used for their spending money on July 4th when we go down to Vancouver.

I think it’s safe to say that we have several hundred pounds of household goods (a.k.a. stuff we’ve been carting around for years) out ready to be sold. The kids are excited beyond words, and I’m thrilled that there is less clutter in the house.

The kids have been told that we are only having the sale for today, but if not enough sells, I may carry it over to tomorrow. We will wait and see. There is a Flea Market today on the other side of the community, if we don’t get many customers we will know that they were diverted to that, and we will run tomorrow.

Hubby is getting ready to take #2 & #3 to go see Garfield. #1 had some problems at school earlier this week that lost him the privilege of going with his brothers. He will get to play shop keeper while they are out. I don’t think he thought I was serious when I told him that his behavior caused him to lose going to the movies. Maybe this will encourage him to think twice next time he is tempted to display behavior that is less than desirable.

I'm hoping to see Shrek2 tonight, but if I don't get my homework done soon, I think my movie privileges will also be suspended. Problem is, I'm going to have to ground myself. That's far less fun than getting to ground somebody else.

Ahhhhh... It's the yarn sale that never ends!!! No wonder I haven't had one in years. No wonder I can't get another coffee mug in the cabinets. *sigh*

I love your new diary look.
It sounds like the kids are having fun making money. They have always been good little business men.
Hey, see if my bro can find those blue and white plates for me to bring with you on the 3rd.
