Strange… Very, Very Strange
Mon Jun 07 2004

The kids are behaving this morning. It's eerie. I’m not going to question it though. I think what helped was that none of the kids were eating breakfast at the same time. That is where the problems always start. #2 was up early, and ate his breakfast before #3 was up. While #3 ate breakfast, #1 was in the shower.

It was WONDERFUL!!!!

Now I’m distracting them with Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It’s working. I’m not going to mess with success.

Besides, Spike is a cutie, so I’m not complaining either!

Boken picture links. Dating back to when Hamipics was "Atomicpics"? I've got literally hundreds of those myself. I've sent a bug message to Steve about it. The original intent was for the old atomicpic address to work even after the breakup, but something happened a couple of weeks ago, and now none of the atomic links is viable. You can fix them by inserting "hamipic" where the atomic name now is, but it's going to be tedious work. I've asked Steve if he can't do some sort of global fix for us.

"You need to realize, here in the states we only know the land of Oz from what we've seen from Steve Irwin, Crocadile Dundee and Quigley Down Under."
I am not a US citizen so I would not be presumptious enough to say that, so those are your own words above (and you are a US citizen?).
I read the blurb on the official website for the obviously terrific Broadway show and it mentioned Peter Allen's childhood in an Oz "outback" town - which was Tenterfield.
And as I pointed out, the New England Tablelands are not exactly "outback".
Uluru, on the other hand, certainly is.
I think that my pointing out that error, and it is an error, might just have helped a little to correct that misconception.
Forgive me for thinking that it's time the "here in the states we" people might wish to begin to expand their horizons a little and I'm happy to help them.
Incidentally, you are almost right on one score.
There are kangaroos (and/or wallabies) pretty much everywhere except inside the cities and town. Emus are another story.
"OK, I need to go chase the wild mustangs out of my yard and keep the indians from scalping the kids." - your words, once again.
I can't speak for all "here in Oz we" people but I'm sure most of us moved on from a "cowboys and indians" view of the US a long time ago although I realise that your comment on that (quoted above) was tongue-in-cheek.
Almost everything the US does affects this small country in one way or another, whether we like it or not.
For that reason, we watch what we can see of you (and the extent of that might surprise you even more than the country about Uluru) and try to understand your great country and its people, seriously.
We (including Steve Irwin, if I may presume) do know a lot more about most countries, including the US, than you seem to give us credit for.
On another note, Hugh Jackman was/is terrific in that show.
My estimation of his talent(s) has gone up many notches.
    Cheers
