Harry, Here We Come... Hopefully!
Wed Jun 02 2004

Tomorrow, while the rest of the 8th grade goes on a field trip to visit 3 of the local College or Vo-Tech schools, #1 & #2 will be staying home with me. Their teachers had asked if Hubby or I could come along as a chaperone, but with my school and Hubby’s work, neither of us is able to go. Not wanting to put the kids in a position to completely blow their chances at going to Harry Potter on Friday, I’ve decided to keep them home, but bring them to school with me for my English so they can at least visit one of the colleges their classmates will be visiting.

I was thrilled to get an e-mail from the boys Science and Math teacher. In her class, #1 has no missing assignments, and #2 only has one missing assignment which he will be doing while home tomorrow. I got an e-mail from their Language Arts saying that they had both turned in several assignments, but as they were not graded yet she was unsure whether there was still anything outstanding. As I know they did all the missing assignments over the weekend (and hopefully all were turned in) Hubby and I are calling that a green light for Language Arts. Now we only need to hear from their History teacher to make it a clean sweep.

With luck, the boys won’t have any failing grades or D’s on this next report card. I’m hoping for everything to be a C or higher.

I've got the tickets stuck on the fridge to inspire the kids. They see that reminder several times a day, and hopefully it has helped them make their goal of no missing assignments or bad grades. The boys do know that if there is even one missing assignment, they will be home while we take his brothers and one of the neighbor kids to the movie.
