Driving the Day Away
Sat May 22 2004

This has been another long day of sitting in the van and driving all day. I hate traveling a few hundred miles, only to feel like I haven’t gotten anywhere for the time spent doing so.

We drove down and picked up MIL to take her shopping for shoes. She needs special shoes for some problems she is having with her feet. The only shoe store in the area that has the kind of shoes she needed was a 40 minute drive south of where she lived.

We stopped by my Bro & SIL’s quickly to drop off a package I forgot to bring down with me last week, and then continued down to the store. Since the kids were bickering extensively and driving Hubby and I nuts for the previous 3.5 hours, I took the kids into Target to find something to distract them for the drive back while Hubby took MIL to get her shoes.

On the way back to MIL’s apartment, we swung through Taco Bell so we could all think outside of the bun for lunch. Yummy!

We arrived home 8 hours after we left, tired and ready to be anywhere besides inside the van!!! I think I will have the family do a “do it yourself” for dinner, and I’m seriously thinking of hiding away with a book or three for a while, and enjoy a QUIET environment for as long as I can.
