Day Two
Sun Dec 28 2003

Monday
We were up and running by 7:30, and into the park by 8:30 on this day. Mom had asked us to frequent her favorite ride, Star Tours, so off we went. Being so early, there were only minimal crowds from the hotels, and no waiting in any of the lines.

The kids decided that Star Tours was so cool, that they should go on it a few times for their Grandma. Wasn't that generous of them?

We thoroughly enjoyed the warm day, taking a break from wandering the park to go let the kids swim while Hubby and I relaxed in the hot tub for a couple hours in the afternoon. We were back in the park for our 4:45 Indiana Jones appointment (boy did I learn to LOVE those Fast Passes!). We hopped on the ride, and 30 seconds later we were sitting in a fully lit ride, waiting for one of the staff to come release us from the car as the ride had broken down. Bummer.

This did have a silver lining though. As compensation for this, we were given a open ended Fast Pass to come ride it again. A few hours later, when the ride was up and running, we used it. Since it was not taken from us, we got a couple more uses out of it until one of the staff finally took it from us on Friday. We got 4 days use out of it, so we weren't complaining.

The entire day we enjoyed virtually no crowds, and no waits longer than 15 minutes. The boys sampled both sides of the Matterhorn (which is back up and running after protests from Disney fans worldwide prevented it from being leveled and replaced with something else). They decided that while the left side was awesome as it ran faster and rougher, the right side was actually better as it lasted 30 seconds longer.

We again enjoyed the Fantasmic! show from a better location, and watched the fireworks from New Orleans Square instead of Main Street. The boys were thrilled when they found that it also snowed at that location, as well as the Main Street location. They did not try to catch snowflakes on their tongue this time, having learned their lesson the night before.

We all stumbled back to the room, tired and footsore around midnight. Once again sleep came almost immediately, much to our relief!

It sounds like you had a wonderful time, I can't believe the place wasn't packed! I am looking forward to pictures.
Glad you are home safe and sound. It hasn't quit raining the whole week and we have had snow on a daily basis!

I guess Disneyland is much different from the last time I was there. I don't even want to think how long it's been.

Well, when you find the doo-hickey, we'll see the pictures. It'll turn up, but probably not in your pocket. ;-)

    Shalom

The reason Hubby dose not go deal with the schools is because he is at work in the Air Force. You can't just say "I have to go" to your commanding officer. If it happens too much he would lose his job. You guys would be in serious trouble. What is more important? A job that supports the family, or a missed class?
It usually is the mother that deals with school issues because the mothers don't allways have the job that supports the entire family. It is just part of being a mother. If he was in school and you worked full time he would be the one to go deal with the issues. It is not that he dose not want to deal with his kids problems, he dose want to. He just is not in the position to be able to without putting the family income in jepordy.

Hey alli! What about u of phoenix?

My application, essay, and all the works should land in the hand of UW admissions tomorrow!!!! so excited!

Finished the book you lent me and loved it- especially how it tied in the talisman and the gunslinger series- hey, do you think the jack in "black house" was the 12 year old jack that the gunslinger had to drop in order to save his own life? hmmmm.
