When Life Gives You Lemons...

Make Whiskey Sours!

We spent the weekend in the 5th wheel down in Vancouver with family. The weekend was absolutely great. Don't get me wrong, there were a LOT of bumps, but we enjoyed the time away from all of our obligations here, and being able to see all the family members in the area.

Thanksgiving was fantastic. I think we all gained weight just smelling my SIL's stuffing as it cooked, and as usual we all ate WAY too much when dinner was served.

On Friday we spent a majority of the day at my Bro's house doing a late birthday celebration for #3, and having a great time visiting with them. All the kids had a blast putting together rockets with their Uncle, and Hubby of course had a wonderful time being able to play around with them also. I think the testosterone level of all the men in the family jumped up a few notches during that time. SIL and I let the boys putter while we watched and chatted.

Saturday was purely a relaxation day. We took the kids to see The Haunted Mansion, then for the evening I talked Hubby into us buying X2 to watch as a family. The fact that Hugh is in it had (almost) NOTHING to do with my talking him into buying it. While we watched it that evening, I reconfirmed that he was indeed NEKKID in one scene. I know now that I did not dream it. I may have to watch it a few times this week though, just to be sure. After all, I may have remembered it incorrectly again. and again, and again...

We arrived home with everyone exhausted and #1 running a temp and showing every sign of being at the onset of another bout of flu. I'll be keeping him home tomorrow and letting him sleep between my pouring fluids down his throat in the hopes that this is a short illness for him.

We also arrived home with Hubby's knowledge of 5th wheel plumbing vastly improved, and him having a new toy in the form of a 25 foot snake. Plumbing snake that is. For reasons unknown to man or physics, the kitchen sink will not drain. He seems to have snaked it all the way from the sink to the tank, and from the tank to the sink, with no apparent blockage. The thing still won't drain. All other drains work fine, but the kitchen sink seems to be under the impression that it is April Fools day.

Dumb sink.

Now we are back home and facing reality again. OK, ok, we faced reality with the plumbing hitch, but this is REAL reality now. I've got a pile of laundry that has obliterated an entire room of my house, Hubby has a 6 page paper he has to finish, I've got math I need to read up on (which I'm putting off until tomorrow as I'm not quite that ready to face reality yet) and we all need to get ready for school and work tomorrow. Ugh.

Hmm, maybe after the kids are out the door I should re-watch X2 first, before I get distracted by the tasks of the day. Yep, definitely need to do that.

Glad you had a great TG! Sometimes 6 loads of laundry is worth it.
At least you have a naked Hugh to help you along.
