Dancing Numbers
Wed Nov 19 2003

I find myself trying to fall asleep tonight, and every time I close my eyes, numbers dance in my mind, bumping into each other with all the grace of bumper cars at the State Fair. I try to banish them only to find myself trying to take the derivative of the quantity of socks in the laundry divided by the unknown factor of how many will become lost between the clothes hampers and the dryer. I keep coming up with an answer of Blue. Since I recognized the fact that my mind is bordering on a hallucinative state brought on by tonight's class combined with extreme sleepiness, I can deduce that Blue is not only NOT the correct answer, but one that makes no logical sense whatsoever.

Ok, that definitely clued me in that I need to do some serious web surfing to get my mind off numbers and laundry.

So I'm off surfing the various news sites. After the 4th or 5th one, with the whole Michael Jackson debacle dominating the headlines, I gave up. I am now in search of internet fluff to entertain my mind and distract my thoughts.

So far as Michael Jackson is concerned, it isn't "news". It's "olds", as in same old story. Considering what that guy's history is, why would parents even consent to allowing their children unsupervised contact with him?
