Just when I was settling down to some good web surfing between laundry loads, the phone rings. It seems #1 was not feeling well and has a low grade temperature. He is now home, drawing until I hear back from his teachers what homework he has today.

While his claims of malaise have been heard, his actions are indicating otherwise. For someone who doesn't feel well, he sure is energetic! Hmm, maybe I should let him work off his excess energy with a few chores. The toilets need cleaning, kitchen needs mopping after last night's flood, The living room, den, hall and his bedroom could use a good once over with the vacuum, and dusting would definitely be in order.

Actually I will re-check his temp in a bit. If it has changed from the 99.5 that it was when he was at school, I will determine my course of action from there. Obviously if it goes up, he goes down... to bed that is. If it goes down, he goes to work. If he thinks coming home will be all fun and games it will be impossible for me to get him back to school on a regular basis. I'm trying to make it that school is a much more plesant place to be during the school day than home. Home is for after school and on the weekend. The school day is for school. He needs to come to terms with that.
