I know it would probably get better if I were to get back into a normal routine of going to the Y to work out. As of late it has been very sporatic. That and get back into real meals again instead of catering to the kids whims. It it frustrating that just about anything I fix at least one of my kids won't eat. I've tried toughing it out and not giving them anything else, trying to get them to at least taste what I've fixed. But noooooooooo. Any food with color and flavor is suspect. At this age all three boys are of the opinion that if they are forced to eat something they think they won't like, their heads will explode.
#3 has perfected his act. I'm telling ya, the kid could win an Oscar for his performance at the table on the nights I make spaghetti or lasagna. At least with enough ranch dressing he will eat broccoli, salad and most veggies. If it is peas, asparagas, spinach (or any greens) or canned corn... forget it. There is not enough ranch dressing in the world to get him to put any of those in the vicinity of his mouth. On most of those, Hubby and #1 are of the same opinion (except they substitute ketchup instead of ranch). This makes it difficult for #2 and I. We both LOVE veggies. I think if given the choice, we would live mostly on veggies and very little meat; just the occasional chicken and fish. However, since we are the minority, I have to cater to the tastes of the majority.
I admit, there are usually one or two days a week I get sick of it. Those days become Do It Yourself nights for dinner. If they are hungry, they can do it themself or go hungry. I'm not going to cook for them just to have them turn their noses up and complain about the food then bitch about being hungry. Do It Yourself, and clean up your mess. If they don't want to do it themself, they have to eat what I cook. End of discussion.
We usually go through milk and cereal like hotcakes on those nights.
