Miss Priss

Actually it should probably be Miss Wuss.

Indigo has been jumping up and down off her comfortable chair like popcorn all day. The squirrels are being quite active in my back yard stowing away food for the winter, and it is driving her nuts.

She has dutifully been let out to chase them every so often. Herein lies the problem; it is raining out.

Indigo does not like the rain. Thankfully it's not snowing, nor does it much around here. The few times it has snowed, getting her out of the house for potty breaks has been a herculean feat, but I digress.

When let out side to chase and bark at the offending rodents, she almost immediately notices the rain. She is torn between the frantic desire to chase the squirrel, and the desperate desire to get out of the rain. She finally found a compromise. When let out, she makes a beeline for the trampoline. She then proceeds to stand under it and bark at the nefarious critters. When she is ready to come back in (usually about 23 seconds after being let out) she then turns to face the house and woof at me.

Why can't she just learn to come back to the door and ring the doorbell to be let in like any other sensible Great Dane?

Yes, Indigo, a.k.a. Her Royal Hind-ass Princess Druulzahlaht( pronounced Drools-a-lot) is a wuss. I think perhaps in a previous life she was a cat.
