We spend the day yesterday doing a "deep clean" on a few rooms. These cleanings involve pulling furniture out of the room and cleaning it as if we were going to be moving. While we don't always succeed, I usually try for us to do one of these type of cleans per room at least once a year. Yesterday my carpet shampooer got quite the workout and now I need to go buy more soap for it in order to do more rooms.
The biggest advantage to doing this in the summer is with the warm weather, the carpets dry rather quickly. When I shampoo carpets in the winter, the house has a very damp feel to it for days on end. Ugh!
After we were done yesterday while we waited for the carpet to dry so we could return furniture to the room, we all went to go see Bruce Almighty. Cute movie. I am a bit concerned that I will hear the term "Anal Dwelling Butt Monkey" from the kids for the rest of the summer though. They have been warned not to use it, but their laughter was such that I suspect we will hear it a time or two. Oh well, I suppose it could be worse.
