Spring Vacation
Mon Apr 14 2003

This week is Spring Vacation for the boys, and of course this means that at least one of them must be sick. #2 appears to have the flu, and #3 is running a mild temperature.

To top it off, the weather today is BEAUTIFUL.

Hubby and I worked on getting the veggie garden ready for seeds all weekend. It should only need a small bit more of encouragement, and as soon as the weather is a bit more reliable the seeds can go in.

It won't be much of a garden. It primarily is a raised bed, 8X8 feet. I will, however, be putting the tomatoes and possibly the peppers in containers. I'm also toying with claiming an unused corner of the yard that gets lots of sun and stays hot all summer for putting in a couple hills for the pumpkins and watermelon.

The kids are getting excited about the garden also. #2 goes through the seeds a few times a day, anticipating what will be harvested in a few months.

Yesterday we spread the manure on the garden, and Hubby was delighting in coming up with "slinging bullshit" jokes. He informed me that when he got to work he would let everyone know that he and I just bullshitted all weekend. I let him have his fun, and successfully suppressed the groans.

Well, it is that time of day that I must find my books and head to school. Finding them will be the interesting part.

Bummer about the taxes. I swear, they do this stuff on purpose just to trip you into having to pay late fees!

    Ahhhhhhh, yes - the State.
It's a worry that it cab be so mindless yet we trust it to look after us.
    I wonder sometimes.

If the State operates anything like Federal, they should have a record in their system showing the original received date of your return. Even if you have to send it back, you should get to keep the original received date. If not, complain. Also, chances are that you won't be charged any kind of a penalty unless there is unpaid tax due on the return. We government employees know these things. ; )
