Caffeine... give me caffeine...

Waking up this morning was interesting at best. Fortunately the kids are wide awake and bouncing off the walls. I don't think I am awake enough if I had to fight getting them out of bed.

I had war dreams last night. It actually seemed to be a combination of all the experiences I had while in the Air Force wrapped up into one scenerio. Very strange, but it was nice to see friends I haven't seen in years.

Yesterday was interesting. I had an eye appointment early in the morning. It ended up that I got my eyes dilated. Not having sunglasses made the drive home extremely tedious. In retrospect I should have called Hubby to come and take me home. I REALLY should not have been driving. Fortunately it was after all the schools started and people were at work. For the 2 mile drive home I did not see a pedestrian or another car. Of course, I didn't see a lot of other things...

Silly me thought my eyes would have settled down enough for me to get to my class later that morning. WRONG! I was still squinting and sensitive at 10 last night. This morning my eyes feel somewhat bruised, but I can see with much more clarity. While I stayed home yesterday, unable to even read my math book, I focused on household chores that don't require a high degree of visual acuity. Every floor in my house has been vacuumed, every surface dusted, all dishes and laundry done. Cool. I can now spend more time for the rest of the week on homework since I won't have those chores left to do.

Well, #2 asked for tunafish for breakfast. Who am I to question a hungry child when he requests something more healthy than sugary cereal?

Tuna fish for breakfast??? He'd have made a good cat!

Pupil dilation typically lasts about 24 hours. Take it easy a little while longer, OK?

Good News ! They DO out grow the "forgetting" or put a better way, the " I just didn't want to do it" stage. Every mother I know who has a boy, all went through the same thing in 7th and 8th grades. Once the boys are threatened with repeating the grade they suddenly have a new found inspiration to keep up with their class. Not wanting to be left behind by all their friends. At these ages friends and what THEY think is twenty times more important to a kid then what mom and dad think. You can use that to your advantage. It really works.:)
