Hubby also will not be going on any camouflaged vacations in the near future. I'm pretty sure that the chances of me being called back up are slim to none. Hubby and I both agree though, that should we be called to go, we would. We have all of our ducks in a row (so to speak) and mentally are prepared.
I have heard or read comments from people, that allude to people thinking or believing that our troops WANT to go over to the Middle East. While I can't speak for every troop in all the nations involved, I can set the record straight for a large percent of them.
This is not true.
Going there, and wanting to go there are completely different issues. Now, in that same train of thought, our troops believe in the purpose of being over there. That still does not mean that they WANT to be there. If asked, we will go. If asked, we will fight. If asked our personal opinions, we would prefer a peaceful solution be found.
Our military members train to be ready in the case they are needed. I am pretty sure though, that every soldier, airman and seaman currently in the Middle East, would much rather be home with their families. Our troops, and those of the coalition forces, believe in the purpose behind this action. They will give their all to ensure the success of their mission. But, to compare to how most people feel about going to the dentist, they would rather not.
