Well, at least it's an upbeat song!
I get to take #3 to school this morning and have a meeting with his teacher about his behavior yesterday. I'm looking forward to it about as much as I would a root canal. As much as I hate meetings like this, I am grateful that the kids have improved enough this year that the teachers don't have me on speed dial any more. It would, however, be nice if I could rack up frequent flier miles every time I do get a call from them.
Onto other subjects.... have I mentioned how much I LOVE my new washer? It easily has twice the capacity of my old washer, and laundry goes by much more quickly when you only have to do 2 loads instead of 3 or 4! Of course, I have to hang dry everything as my dryer won't hold that capacity, but I can live with that. I usually try to hang dry as much as I can, so there isn't much difference. During the day my kitchen/laundry room looks like there was a clothing explosion with everything hanging on all possible surfaces, but it is usually dry, folded and put away by the time I am ready to fix dinner.
Hanging the clothes to dry has another benefit. It is extending the life of my dryer. Instead of taking 70 minutes to dry the clothes, and heating them to the point where I can't touch them to fold, I only put the dry, crinkly clothes in for 10 minutes to soften them up. I will continue to do this until I can buy a new dryer. I don't care much for the idea of my dryer filling my house with smoke the way my washer did!
