Once again this year we have to shake our heads in wonder at the government. In the military, you are expected to pay your bills on time. If you are not financially responsible, you end up in front of your commander sweating bullets explaining why a check bounced or whatever. My biggest question to the government is, if you don't pay your people, how can you expect them to pay their bills? If you tell them that they will be paid a certain amount of money on a certain day, and they pay their bills based on that, why do you punish them if YOU do not follow through with this promised pay? And in turnabout, why can't we have the government people in charge of making sure the payments get done in front of us sweating bullets explaining why they did not pay what they promised, when they promised?
Right now I would really like to send all the people in charge of payroll in the government to bed without dinner.
Meanwhile... we heard from my folks about #1. He is currently getting good grades, which includes B+ in French and Language Arts. They are not sure about the grades for Math and Biology as that teacher was not at the conference. #1 has been taking full advantage of the very cold weather up there. The lake in front of my folks place is frozen and the local kids have had daily hockey games out there. Sunday #1 spent 12 hours out skating and playing with his friends. Mom says he slept VERY well that night! He has quite a full schedule up there. Monday and Wednesdays after school he has archery, Tuesday and Thursday after school he has swimming, then he has swimming on Saturday mornings. Mom tells me that he has grown more than an inch since Christmas, and is happy and doing well. I am so thrilled for him to hear this. I'm very glad he has found a place where he can succeed.
I have my math final next Monday, then I get a break until March 17 before my next math class starts. As far as school is concerned, for the next several quarters my life will be nothing but numbers! While I would like to take more than one class at a time before the kids are out of school for the summer, all the classes I need have math prereq's that I need to meet first. At least with only one class at a time it is helping me to concentrate enough on each class that I can bring my GPA up.
