Kids campaign
Sun Feb 23 2003

Yesterday morning, the kids began a campaign regarding church this morning. If they did this, that or the other, could they only go to Sunday school, and not church. I told them I would think about it. Since Hubby is still under the weather today, I have agreed to this request. While the kids are at Sunday school, Hubby will be home still hiding under a rock desperately hoping to not continue his worship of the porcelain God, and I will do the grocery shopping. The kids and I will then swing by the store on the way home to eyeball the washing machines.

Today, I will likely confine Hubby to the bedroom and close the door to keep it warm in there. I plan to open every other door and window and try to air out the smokey smell from the house left from yesterday. Right now my house smells like a day old electrical fire... go figure.

I can say that yesterday's incident did teach me something. If your washer ever dies while still full of water, you can drain it with the same equipment used to drain a fish tank. Boy was I glad we had a fish tank!

Meanwhile...

Question: Allimom, you just had your taxes done. What will you do now?

Answer: I'm going to Disneyland!

We had our taxes done the other day, and were shocked at how much we will be getting back. We have never had a tax return that high before! We have wanted to take the kids to Disneyland before they are at the age that they are embarrassed to be seen with us, and this return pays for everything but the spending money. Cool! Our plans, barring any other catastrophe, will be to have a Disney Christmas.

For those unaware of it, having a family member in college is quite beneficial for tax returns! Last year it was just Hubby, this year it will be both of us. Gotta love it!

We are enjoying the sun here too---but there is just enough wind to make it cold.
And the grass is growing! Today will mark the second time it is mowed.

You are going to ahve the best Christmas EVER if you do it in Disneyland. We took our kids and went witha friend in 1998 and to this day the kids all talk about that Christmas. It is crowded but very magical. If you want to splurg on something memerable make reservations for Christmas dinner at Grandville located at the Disney Hotel. It will be the best food you have ever had, presented in the richest manner you have ever had. They had Chargers on the table, and a man in a tux just to sweep the bread crumbs into a golden bread crumb pan. My son had the 27 layer cake for dessert. He could not finish it because of all the endless french fries he had with his burger, but hey it was worth it just to eat some of it. Prepare to spend around $150.00, but that includes alcohol and desserts and a generous tip. Carolers dressed in Dickens time period clothes sing at each table too. It is VERY worth every penny. I recommend the Beef Wellington.
