We went to see Catch Me If You Can. Very good movie, but I think we will be sure the kids don't see it. It might give them ideas.
After the movie, we went to dinner at a local place, The New Orleans Creole Cafe. This is a place we will DEFINITELY be returning to. The prices were incredibly reasonable and the food was out of this world. If you have never sampled cajun or creole cooking, you don't know what you are missing. We thoroughly enjoyed a mess of Crawfish for an appetizer, then Hubby had the Seafood Gumbo and I had the Crawfish Etouffee.
I am still relishing the memory of the buttery texture and peppery flavor of the crawfish. It is safe to say that if my family liked them, and if I could find them at a good price around here, I would serve crawfish at LEAST once a week while they were in season. Yummy!
Hubby also determined that the Hurricanes were just as good as the originals at Pat O'Brien's in the Big Easy. There are times I would love to try and convince Hubby that we should move to Nawlins. Of course if I lived there I wouldn't appreciate the food as much! OK, I actually wouldn't want to live in the city. Probably across the lake would be a more likely living location!
Hey Frannie, next time you are up, I know where we can go for dinner! And you don't even have to show your boobs to get beads if you go during Mardi Gras!
