Monday rolls around again
Mon Jan 06 2003

The kids were relatively easy to get up and going this morning after I doused them with ice water. #3 is actually done with breakfast and moving along with his school preparations smoothly. #2 is in the shower trying to pretend that he is still asleep. That should come to a halt when I go in and turn off the hot water in a few moments.

It will be nice to have some time to myself again today to get back into my typical routine. While I love being with my family during vacation times, it really disrupts my normal routines and leaves me feeling like I am constantly forgetting something. Looking over towards the laundry room and the mountains of laundry, I am soberly reminded what that was.

I had to laugh at #2 this morning. He has barely started to play or tinker with many of the things he got for Christmas, and he has already started campaigning for his birthday. I assured him that he would get a lump of coal. He was not amused.

Hubby actually got to sleep in this morning for a change. He is going into work a bit later than usual as he has to go pick up a co-worker who's car broke down. It was a novelty to see him on a work morning, but quite nice. I have to admit that I envy how easily he seems to wake up in the mornings. He insists that it is the gallons of coffee he drinks in the morning, but I'm unconvinced. He usually seems quite awake before he imbibes himself in his morning coffee ritual. Of course waking up early is easy if you are able to get to sleep fairly early. I still on and off play the insomnia game. I really need to get into the habit of taking the melatonin earlier in the evening. I'm hoping now our routine will be getting back to a more normal one, the sleeping problems will diminish. One can hope!

I know what you mean about the routine. My hubby doesn't always have to go into his office to work some days he just stays at home calls his secratart and says "I am going to work at home today" and then he does nothing all day. To my surprise as he has been staying home for the last two weeks even longer I think he has been working really hard on things(even when last week we took a trip to Nashvile he took his work with him) This morning he headed out the door to go into work now that he has a week until classes start again he has to get ready. It was nice to know that we were getting back to normal and I would have my day to the kids and while they take a nap to just me. AHHH!!!

Hope that you have a wonderful day.

    Peace!

Tough situation with the MIL. That must be hard on the hubby.

Sounds like you have had a very hectic couple of weeks! I am sure it will be nice to sit back, relax and heave a big sigh of relief. *smile* Sounds to me like a long bubble bath a hot cup of cappucino is in order.

I hope your Mom in Law will be fine. I'm sure she knows just how loved she is. That is a comfort to the aged.
Had to laugh at your kids. Did you really have to douse them with ice water? LOL! Crack up! I love that bit about turning the hot water off. That's brilliant! You know what, I think you're a great Mom. You have a sense of humor when most people would just tear their hair out and scream!
    Love,
    E.L.
