#2 has numerous missing assignments. He has been repeatedly instructed to go to his teacher, get them and bring them home to complete. To date this has not happened.
Today, I am using embarrassment to achieve that end. I will be taking him to school and going to his class with him to get the assignments. I don't know how he feels about this, but at that age I would have been mortified if my mother came to school and into my class with me! I will use this to ensure that he brings the assignments home in the future. I don't mind going to his class again if I need to. With any luck, the threat of embarrassment will be enough to encourage him to be more persistent about getting his assignments in the future!
