And away we go!
Sun Oct 20 2002

It is almost always a comedy of errors getting ready for church on Sunday mornings.

Getting the kids moving in the right direction for breakfast and getting dressed is the most difficult task. They keep getting distracted by shiny objects...

Then there is getting the supplies ready. For #2 we need to make sure that he has all his books & stuff for his Confirmation class. For #3 we need art supplies. Why do we take art supplies to church you ask? It is the only way to get him to sit still during the sermon. While the rest of the congregation gazes expectantly at the Pastor while he preaches, #3 draws his ongoing comic of "Pencil Man" while soaking in the message of the morning.

After the sermon, #3 wanders off to Sunday School, #2 rushes over to his Confirmation Class, and Hunkka-hunkka Hubby and myself go in search of caffeine. There is a little coffee shop around the corner from the church. We consume caffeine and map out the day while enjoying what will probably be the only quiet time of the weekend for us.

I think I enjoy that time the most due to the quiet, and absence of TV blaring news while the family goes about it's daily chores (Hubby is a news junkie). I'm secretly thinking of disconnecting the cable to the TV today just after getting home from Church in the hopes of avoiding news for the day.

OK, maybe not.

    What a beautiful dress!!!!!
My feed would die if I stuck them in anything besides tennis shoes and my ariat riding boots. I would most likely fall flat on my face if I had to attempt dancing.
Stunning dress, you will look "marvelousssss, darling."

You don't have to convince me about the advantage of going back to college at an older age. I loved it because I knew what I wanted to do. The added bonus was being able to help my kids with math and science homework. I will never forget the first time two years ago when my daughter asked for math help and I was able to actually to help! It was also fun sitting around the table in the evenings with all of us doing homework. :)

Actually, I would make it one of three choices: military service, missionary, or public service. Either one should knock some silliness out of teenage heads.

have to admit those people tended to bug me as they knew exactly where they were going and what they were doing while the rest of us floundered around in undecisions and ignorance
it seems there is more than just the one hugely important decision to be made when so very young
