Today is the last day of the week that the kids have 1/2 day of school. Tomorrow they will be back for the full day, which will give me more time to get things done before they get home. Either that or hubby and I will goof off for longer...
OK, that one is a no-brainer. Housework vs. Fooling around... no contest.
#2 found my crochet hooks and some yarn yesterday. Last night he, #3 and Hubby all sat around crocheting while I read from the book we are reading. #2 was quite reluctant to put his work down when it was his turn to read! I think I'm going to try to have us do our reading today BEFORE he starts crocheting again. He is determined to make his brother a shirt for Christmas. The fact that he only knows one crochet stitch and does not know how to make a shirt is not stopping him. He is having fun with it, and not watching TV while he works on it, so I'm all for this activity!
We have a pot-luck picnic today with a co-worker of Hubby's. It is a Southwest theme, so my Fajita casserole will be a must make. I love this dish, and look for opportunities to make it frequently. Hubby also likes it but the kids usually find it too spicy, so I don't make it often at home.
Yesterday #3 and Hubby got up the last of the Halloween decorations. #3 was quite excited and then wanted to know if he could start Trick-or-Treating a couple weeks early, just for practice. I assured him that he would be fine going out only on the 31st.
Today I will be spending quite a bit of time on the phone between the Insurance company and the Vetrans Administration. Dealing with companies over the phone just irritates me. With all the user unfriendly menu's to navigate through, it seems more time is spent in that maze than actually on the phone with someone. I think those menu's were put in place to discourage the less patient callers, thus reducing the call volume.
#2 is finally out of the shower and eating his breakfast. I'm not sure why, but he has been singing Christmas Carols all morning. Reminding him that it was still October brought a cherry "I know!" and the Carols continued.
I just know I'm going to have Christmas songs stuck in my head for the rest of the day!
