Taking a break from chores

While I anxiously await the dryer to finish (NOT) I thought I would relax on the computer for a few moments.

Hubby is doing homework, and silent except for the occsaional Honey, could you look up this for me on the internet? The kids are finished with their assigned chores and out cavorting with their pals. I am between chores and escaping from the tedium of those tasks, if only for a few moments.

This morning we found an injured Stellars Jay on it's back in the driveway. At first we thought it was dead, but slow movements proved otherwise. Hubby put it in a sheltered spot to warm up while we went to church. After getting home and starting laundry, the bird found its way to the dryer vent and was basking in warm air, seeming to recover some what. Bird seed has been placed in strategic locations for birdy to snack as he recovers. We realize the slim chances for a full recovery with the current nightly temperatures, but if there is a chance we will help him along.

I had a great conversation with #1 last night. It seems Mt. Vernon was his favorite part of the trip. This is where he was interviewed by a local news station asking him his opinion of the sniper in the DC area. My Mom says he seemed to enjoy the Civil War reenactment they went to in Kentucky the most. He spoke of almost every place they went to, and was fairly excited in telling about them. I would say overall, despite having to sit in a car for long rides, he enjoyed the trip and got a lot out of it.
