Visit with #1
Wed Sep 25 2002

The visit with #1 and my folks last night went well. I was amazed by how much he has grown! Up until this year, there was only about 1/2 to 1 inch difference between the twins. #1 is now about 2 1/2 inches taller than #2, and easily out weighs him by 20 pounds. I think the boy is aspiring to be a linebacker.

Their flight was delayed so we did not get as long of a visit with them as we had hoped, but we did have a good visit. Since time was a serious factor, we ended up just going to a local restaurant for dinner and visiting.

They landed in D.C. about 5 hours ago, and by now I would not be surprised if they had not stopped at a motel to catch some Z's. I'm guessing they are somewhere along I-95 in Virginia. If they were able to sleep on the plane though, they may still be on the road and possibly almost to N. Carolina.

It seems #1's math class is charting out the costs for a bicycle trip. #1's assignment will be to chart out his actual trip, track the costs, mileage, map it out and put it together to turn in when he gets back. For his art class, he will be sketching something that he see's each day, and turn it in when he returns. It seems all of his teachers have been very accomodating with the trip, so he should not really fall behind in any of his classes.

#1's "homework" assignment is wonderful, that is the best way to learn. Sounds like he is having a big growth sput. My 12 yr old just got done with one, he outgrew clothes he never had a chance to wear out.

Hello! Glad your visit went really well :) I didn't realise you had twins though, what a handful. It would be strange seeing the changes in them after some time apart wouldn't it??

Thanks for the suggestion, Alli! I've already thought up a game that involves wearing those gag disguise glasses with false big nose and moustache, and I will see if I can get a karaoke machine and games to go with it that will force people to get up and sing. That will make an excellent ice breaker.
That's a cute photo there. I've never seen Hugh Jackman look so young. He's quite a dish, isn't he?
I hope your Melatonin will take effect soon.
    Peace Out.
    Love,
    E.L.
