Not today...
Thu Jun 27 2002

I told the kids that if today was as hot as yesterday I would take them to the lake to go swimming.

Needless to say we woke to a cold drizzle and completely overcast skies. OK, change of plans. I think we will go to see Lilo & Stitch instead. I think after lunch when the kids (hopefully) are not hungry would be best! I am always looking for ways to keep them from wanting that horribly expensive junk food. Perhaps full tummies will do the trick?

I have a joyous day of paying bills ahead of me. Oh. I. Cannot. Contain. My. Excitement.

On a brighter side, 3 more days until I am submerged in the sights and sounds of Drum Corps! While I still enjoy watching the show, I actually have more fun visiting with friends from my past that I have not seen in years. I have come to look at these shows as more of a reunion.

I saw the Hugh pic the other day with his girlfriend (not impressed). This gal looks like she "goes" better with him, but I still prefer him single. ;)

I wonder what a 'Drum Corps' is?
That link appears to be broken.
It looks like you had great fun though.
Life should be like that - sometime.

OK - TY for that, alli! :)
    Now I know (I think).
I'm not very knowlegable about these things but I don't think we have anything like that here.
Perhaps we are too small in population to support it and maybe it's not really part of our culture anyway.
I was in the school cadets (like ROTC), attached to our armed services.
We did have a bugle/drum band but no dedicated colour guard. We did have colours though.
It looks like it would have been a lot of fun and obviously a huge number of teenagers are interested in it for that reason.
It does look like you spent a LOT of time in practice,
but it would have been worth it to have all that fun together.

I didn't know PinkSpiritLady was your sis-in-law! It's fun to learn about family connections here on DD.
