It has been a shade under 20 years since I attended college full time. I have taken a class here and there, but still not finished my degree. Going to school only during the spurts that you can afford it really sucks!
Looking back on it now I wish I knew more about finding financial aid 20 years ago, and had finished school then!
Well, this gives me the chance to get into a field that at the age of 18 I never considered. At 18 people who were into computers were nerds and geeks. While being a nerd or geek is trendy these days, in 1982 it was definitely NOT trendy. I still occasionally have flashbacks to classrooms full of the cast of Revenge of the Nerds.
A new day dawns now, and the classrooms (while you do still find the Revenge of the Nerds cast) are more diverse. Even us girls are taking computer classes and going into Computer Science majors.
