I have a typing disability. This is not some congenital defect, or the result of an injury. This is caused by owning pets.
My dogs enjoy it when I am on the computer, it means I am sitting in one place rather than on the move. A person sitting in one place is much easier to solicit attention from.
Cat owners, and owners of small dogs have it easy. There is a nice handy lap for them to curl up on.
My Great Danes have offered to curl up on my lap, and are surprised every time I decline the invitation. They have found a much more convienent (for them) position to have while I am on the computer. Under my arm.
Picture this, you are sitting at your computer typing away. Your elbows are up around your ears, and there are two Great Danes, one on each side" leaning against you watching you type.
My Danes never want to look over my shoulder, which I would think would be more comfortable. Looking over my shoulder would not require them hunching down. But NO. The coveted spot for dogs in my home is under my arms.
Did you know that when you complain to your doctor about a sore neck and tell him this is how you got it, they look at you like you have lost your mind?
