7 bouncing boys in the water
Sun Jan 20 2002

Well, we did the twins b-day party. Since their b-day is in 2 weeks and we are moving this week, thought it would be nice if they could have one final blow out with their closest friends.

I think the Harry Potter cake was a success. The boys loved it and the dogs loved cleaning up after them. After cake we crammed into our vehicles and headed to the local aquatics center. We made the mistake of letting each boy rent their own inner tube. Three guesses who got to spend the first hour babysitting 7 inner tubes? That got old and we gave the boys a choice of taking them or giving them away. From there Hunkka-hunkka Hubby and I headed to the jacuzzi where we had a wonderful view of the 7 boys playing, fighting and mostly flirting with all the girls.

Somewhere between leaving the aquatics center and getting home I managed to let them talk me into letting everyone sleep over. They are either FINALLY asleep, or doing a very good imitation of it now. I am so glad the boys are getting this chance to spend time with their friends before we move.

Hunkka-hunkka Hubby went to visit his Mom who is still in the Nursing Home recovering from her fall on Sunday. He was VERY upset when he got home. He hates seeing her in a place like that and mostly hates it that he is not able to take care of her himself. We have invited her to come live with us numerous times and she always refuses. I believe this stems back to her MIL living with her when she was first married and making her life miserable. She does not want to do the same to me. I keep pointing out to her that she can only do that if I let her, which I won't, but she still refuses.

MIL does have a very nice home in the assisted living facility she is in. It helps her to feel more independent while giving her the care she needs. Of course this does not stop me from hoping that we win the lottery so we can have a house with an in-law apartment built onto it so she can come be with us. I think she would do it if she felt it was her own home and not part of our home.

Well, off to bed, I have TONS of cleaning to do tomorrow and with any luck I will wake up before 10 and have it done early. NAH!

Best love song ever

OK, this song has been going through my mind for several days now (and it was all I could do to keep from singing it out loud while at the mall yesterday with franisbueno), and for some VERY strange reason almost every time I turn on the radio it is on. I am hoping that if I put it down in black and white my mind can move on to other songs....
Something That We Do
by Clint Black

I remember well the day we wed
I can see that picture in my head
I still believe the words we said
Forever will ring true
Love is certain, love is kind
Love is yours and love is mine
But it isn't something that we find
It's something that we do
It's holding tight, lettin' go
It's flying high and laying low
Let your strongest feelings show
And your weakness, too
It's a little and a lot to ask
An endless and a welcome task
Love isn't something that we have
It's something that we do
We help to make each other all that we can be
Though we can find our strength and inspiration independently
The way we work together is what sets our love apart
So closely that you can't tell where I end and where you start
It gives me heart remembering how
We started with a simple vow
There's so much to look back on now
Still it feels brand-new
We're on a road that has no end
And each day we begin again
Love's not just something that we're in
It's something that we do
We help to make each other all that we can be
Though we can find our strength and inspiration independently
The way we work together is what sets our love apart
So closely that you can't tell where I end and where you start
Love is wide, love is long
Love is deep and love is strong
Love is why I love this song
And I hope you love it too
I remember well the day we wed
I can see that picture in my head
Love isn't just those words we said
It's something that we do
There's no request too big or small
We give ourselves, we give our all
Love isn't someplace that we fall
It's something that we do
