I just got off the "kids" computer after setting it up with Quicken. This was a decision based on #2 being unable to keep track of his $$.
I got it loaded, and tomorrow he will be getting his furry white butt out of bed at 0830 for me to give him a quick lesson in how to use Quicken. I telework tomorrow, so it will be a quick lesson during a quick break, but I will be in the other room for him to come ask questions of as he navigates the road to financial stability.
I hope.
I need to get him in the habit of keeping his receipts from his debit card purchases, and teach him how to maintain his bank statements and other financially oriented paperwork (I see a trip to Staples in my future if I don't find where Hubby has hidden the hanging files).
In other news.....
Hubby is out galavanting around the country until Friday. I truly feel sorry for him as his travels takes him away from the cool-comfort of home into the blistering oven that is the rest of the country.
In other-other news....
I have GOT to help #1 find a job. He has two classes this term, and two classes next term (which reminds me, I need to get him registered for next term), and then barring any unforseen failing grades he will have a piece of paper that proclaims that he has college degree. An Associates, but a degree nonetheless. But seriously, I need to help him find a job, I'm tired of being The First Bank of Mom.
And while I'm at it, maybe I'll help find #2 a different job, he is miserable in his current one, which brings him down and by proxy brings us down.
And also while I'm at it, maybe I can find a shock collar for all the kids to use to ensure they do the few chores around the house I ask them to do. OK, maybe not. But some days it's REALLY tempting. Specifically those when I need to get dinner started as soon as I get home, and I find the kitchen counters, sink and dishwasher filled with dirty dishes, and I have nothing to cook with.
Is it any wonder I get Hubby to take me to Applebees so often?
Oh, and I need to make more jam, maybe this weekend? Who knows.
