I am determined that #1 find employment soon. He is in college classes part time, and it's time he find something to enable him to put gas in his tank and fund his desired summer activities (competing in Highland Games all over the region and camping with his girlfriend).

He has supposedly been applying for jobs online, but has yet to even get a call for interview. I am to the point that I'm going to hack into his computer, find his resume and make it sell him better, then I'm going online and going to apply for him.

OK, maybe not. But it's getting close to that!

    Don't be too hasty to blame #1's resume. I had mine professionally revamped after I got my CPhT certification a month ago, have used it over a dozen times, and only gotten two responses. Both of those responses were to applications I filed electronically, and were automatic responses confirming receipt; no human intervention required. The few interviews I was called in to prior to this never got back to me to tell me that I was not selected for the job. Apparently employers no longer feel they need to let applicants know if they didn't make the cut. With the economy the way it is, employers are glutted with applications and no longer feel it is necessary to respond to anything unless they want to call someone in for an interview or let them know they've got the job.

    Oh how I understand this. Both my boys have been looking for months. I never thought I'd be rejoicing over one getting a part time job in a kitchen, but I am! One down; one to go.
