Homeschooling

I've been looking for a science course for #1 to take, one that might possibly keep his interest and not be like pulling teeth from a crocodile to get him through the lessons. I found a couple that might do the trick. The first one is Modern Residential Wiring, which basically instructs the student on what all is needed, and how to wire a home or light industrial building. The second is Carpentry and Building Construction, which (as the title indicates) teaches the student everything that is needed from the initial planning of a building, to the finishing touches such as painting. #1 is much more enthusiastic about these possibilities than he is about chemistry or physics.

So, I will have #1 and Hubby look over all the information on them this evening, and see which one appeals to him (a.k.a. them) more. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for the Residential Wiring class as the materials for the class will cost roughly $200 less than the Construction class.

#2 is currently working on his English class. The class I found for him is a workbook that he reads and does the exercises, in addition to writing a paper. There are a total of two classes, and if we submit them along with the papers he writes for these courses he will be given credit for 3 semesters of English. Today is a bit more challenging than other days as #2 didn’t get as much sleep as he could have last night and is rather grumpy today. Neither of the twins are joys to work with when they are grumpy, and today is resulting in a lot more earned gray hair than a good day gives. Fortunately it’s also a pulling out my hair in frustration day, so hopefully I will only pull out the gray hairs.

OK, back to cracking my whip over #2’s back to get him to finish his school work. Wish me luck!

Being the wife of a 25-year electrician, that possibility scares the bejeezus out of me *giggles*. I'll watch the news for the black out!!!

Ok. Ok. Seriously, if he does decide on that one and has questions or needs help, let me know and R'll give him a hand.

I'd like the Carpentry one. Wanted to be an architect at one time.

Don't let on, though, that these courses employ physics and chemistry, although not blatantly.

I looked for chocolate in my cupboard earlier and found not but a can of Hershey's cocoa *sigh* so I'm consoling myself with bread pudding and cream
