This week, I think I've finally found a successful way to teach the lessons in a way the kids comprehend it. It involves a lot more practical work that we used before, which they aren't too fond of. We've had success in math this week, so I think I will continue this method next week.
#1 takes the SAT tomorrow, and he is stressing a bit about that. I have him doing grammar reviews to help him brush up on that area of what he will be tested on, and we will do some more math refreshers later today.
I'm still looking into all the options for health and science, not having decided on any one in particular. Tonight Hubby and myself will actually be home and awake at the same time, so I suspect we will have a discussion with the kids so we can get some feedback from them. Hubby and #2 have been interested in taking a first responder course through the fire department. I need to get more information on that, and it is possible that it will fit the requirements for the Health credits.
For Health and Science, they need what would be equal to 40 hours of class time on the subject. If the first responder course doesn't quite make it that many hours, we can add some type of nutrition self-study or such to make up the difference.
OK, the rumblings from my tummy are telling me it's lunch time. Soup sounds good, and maybe a grilled cheese sandwich...
