#2 needs 1.5 English credits and .5 History credits. We think we can submit a certificate from a computer History course he took last summer to meet the History requirement.
Neither needs math, but I'm continuing math classes with them so they can score higher on their SAT's and on the math placement tests and need fewer math classes once they transition to college.
I discovered that #1 needs a half a credit of science, and also a half a credit of Science to meet the Home Schooling graduation requirements.
I’m tentatively excited about the Science as it would give me the perfect opportunity to take a Horticulture/Agriculture approach to this, testing the soil and having #1 research what it would take to build an edible-landscape in the back yard with an organic pest control plan.
He also needs a half a credit of Health, and we’re looking into what all options might be available for that. I strongly suspect doing a nutritional analysis of all our holiday cooking and baking wouldn’t quite meet that requirement, but you never know!
He will need to do those in addition to the Math and English we're already doing. I will have both #1 and #2 do all of these lessons together to give them both a solid routine for the schooling. That, and it will be much easier for me to run one schooling plan with both boys rather than a different lesson for each boy.
