Trick or Treat?
Wed Oct 31 2007

This will be the first year we won't be taking any of the kids trick-or-treating. We talked with #3 and made him understand that we feel he is too old for it. The benefit for him is that he gets to give out candy here at the house. He is looking forward to seeing how many kids he can scare, and isn't upset about not being able to go out.

On the homeschooling front, we've run into a bit of a stumbling block as both #1 and #2 are having difficulty with our current lesson. Instead of being able to get through one lesson a day, we will be working on the same lesson for the third day tomorrow. I think I'm going to actually have us go through the homework together for the lesson as what I've done yesterday and today don't seem to have been very effective.

I gave myself a treat today, one I haven't had in more years than I can remember.

When I was at the store the other day, they had pomegranates on sale. I had one today, reliving my childhood when I would curl up with a pomegranate and a bowl, staining my fingers and reddening my lips in a sweet spectacular feast.

Yummy! A super-wonderful Halloween treat!

I'm having some problems with the younger girl and her math. I think I'm not getting the concept across, and I'm trying to figure another way to approach the problem she's having. The older girl says 7th grade math is too hard, so she's transferring to another (bonehead?) class. I think she's just lazy because I believe the younger girl could do the math she says is so hard. Again...concept.

So Happy Boo to the family. Don't expect any trick 'r treaters at my place. Haven't had any in the 11 years I've lived here.

Keep the steak. I'll take the baked potato with everything on it. Including garlic. Pizza? Eh.
