Reflections On The Day
Fri Oct 19 2007

I spent the morning at work, and I can't begin to tell you how nice it was to not have to argue with the kids as to why they have to do their math assignments. Since Hubby had today off, I let him field that argument for a change.

I was going to make a run to the store tonight, but it's already 7 and Hubby isn't back from his meeting. I'm rapidly approaching the point where I turn into a pumpkin and am done for the night. Maybe I'll just have a beer and go to the store tomorrow. That sounds REALLY good to me!

#1 is at a fund raiser for his youth group tonight, so we won't see him until around 10:30 or so.

#2 is practicing his trumpet upstairs, trying to figure out one of the tunes from one of the Pirates of the Caribbean. He has the first phrase figured out, and so far all it sounds like is I Was Made For Lovin' You by Kiss.

#3 is out in the garage splitting his attention between Transformers and a video game.

As for me, I'm relaxing. Really, truly relaxing.

Therein also lies the problem with my original plan to go to the store tonight. I'm relaxed to the point that I don't want to change out of my sweats, put on shoes, and go to the store.

OK, that cinches it. I'll go shopping tomorrow. I'm fairly sure I have at least one Red Stripe in the fridge that has my name on it...

How funny that you mentioned "I Was Made for Loving You" by KISS in this entry! Just yesterday that song came on the radio during my drive home, and while I remembered the song, I had no idea who recorded it. The DJ came on and announced it as a KISS song, and I said to myself, "Well, I'll be damned. I always wondered what it was that KISS sang." I knew KISS from their photos, but I honestly had no idea why they were famous besides their Stage Makeup!

RYC about Children's Books: I have a complete set of Trixie Belden books out in my garage! The hardbacks actually belonged to my mother, and she filled in the series with paperbacks when I was a kid. I LOVED those books and found them far superior to Nancy Drew! I think I even belonged to the Trixie Belden Fan Club once upon a time! And I bought a set of Beverly Cleary books for my daughter YEARS ago, and am loving that she is reading them now. They were my favorites when I was her age. I'm so glad my kids read!
