Six Weird Things
Wed Dec 27 2006

THE RULES: Each player of this game starts with the 6 weird things about you. People who get tagged need to write a blog post of their own 6 weird things as well as state this rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names. Don't forget to leave a comment that says you are tagged in their comments and tell them to read your blog.

1. I have, quite possibly, the ugliest feet in the world. They greatly resemble the feet of a Cabbage Patch Kid. My toes square off rather than taper, and all my toes (except for my big one) curl under.

2. While I love organization, I am not an organized person. At work I am. My workspace is neat, tidy and well organized. Not-so-much at home. While I usually can find the things I need to find, my lack of home organization skills frequently cause much needed and sought after items to be somewhere nobody can seem to find. My dresser, bed-side table, bathroom area and desk often look like something (or somethings) exploded on them. People fear to go near these messes, I think because they are afraid it somehow may have spawned life of it's own.

3. I read and collect comic books. I have 5 large boxes of them in my area of the closet, and still others secreted about the house.

4. I count. I count just about everything. Not aloud, in my head. If I'm walking, I'll count my steps as I take them, usually to 100 before starting over, but sometimes to different numbers. If I'm driving through a neighborhood I count the houses. If I'm listening to music and don't have anything else to count, I'll count the beats. And I know where this all started. When I was a kid, going to the movies. If I had to go to the bathroom while the movie was on, I would count the steps to the row we were sitting at so I wouldn't get lost coming back. Somehow that spilled over into the rest of my life, and now I count. Which leads into my next one...

5. I'm slightly OCD. It's not too bad, I'm definitely not Monk, but if I'm doing something I'm really interested in, I can't stop. Seriously, I am unable to stop doing it. For example, reading. If I have a new book, and I'm really interested in it, I can't stop reading it until I've completely finished it. This has kept me awake overnight on more than one occasion (like Book 5 in Harry Potter, where we didn't even get the book until 8 in the evening, and I stayed awake until 4 reading it...). Playing card games on the computer, I can't stop until I've won the game. I will play it over and over and over until I win, then I'm fine.

6. While I don't think this is weird (and I know others who feel the same as I do), I've been told that it is very weird that I like asparagus. It goes further than that as it is one of my favorite foods. I probably wouldn't feel that way if I ate it more often, but it's not often I can afford to buy it, so when I do it is a big treat. I like most vegetables, with the exception of brussel sprouts and okra. There is an exception to okra if it is in gumbo, but other than that I will pass on it.

OK, those are my six. Now I'm tagging:

Okra. Brussel Sprouts. Eeeyuck!! And I love asparagus. Fresh, not canned. Canned asparagus go with okra and brussell sprouts.

Organized/disorganized. I know the drill all too well. When I was working, my apartment was neat and organized. Always! You should see what I live in now that I have 24 hours every day. Or maybe not.

Does it help to know that in a couple places of weird, you have company?

    Shalom

As to 4 and 5, they are linked. Counting is an OCD trait and I do it, too *laffs*

So many of the things that people describe as weird are things I either do or at the very least identify with. I am not sure if I should be amused or alarmed. LOL

Perhaps it means we are all normal. :)

Yep, I'll repeat what I said to InStitches - I think the more I read of these the more normal we all appear to be. And we all have a LOT in common, too. :o)

    RYC:

    45 dollar my keester.
Those are 100 dollar words. And not a penny less!

What does that last one mean?
Some kind of infection of the lungs I suspect.
