Some time today we will be driving down to see MIL, I'm not sure when. I would ask Hubby when he thinks we will leave, but so far all attempts at conversation with him this morning has been met with snarls and attempts to bite my head off, so I'll just hang around until he announces we are leaving.

Hellby and I went for a walk a bit earlier to get her out of the house and hopefully reduct Hubby's stress level. She thoroughly enjoyed it and we came home tired and with her soaking wet. She is not in her crate drying off and gnawing away at a juicy soup bone I got for her the other day. It is safe to say that for at least right now, she is as happy as a pig in mud!

My carpet cleaner finally kicked the dust a few days ago. Years of shampooing carpets and cleaning up spot messes finally took it's toll and it gave up the ghost. Darn, that means I get to go buy a new one!

My folks are considering buying a place down this direction and Hubby and I will be driving by to take a look at it today on the trip down to see MIL. The ad and pictures online make it look decent, we will see how real life translates to what we have seen virtually.

I'm hungry for something salty, greasy and SO not on my diet. I wonder if I can convince Hubby to go to McDonalds for lunch?

Hubby has peeked out from behind his laptop now, and is much less grumpy than he was while hiding behind it. Maybe I'll make another attempt at conversation. Wish me luck!

Don't buy a new carpet shampooer. You're money is better spent having a reputible professional do it. You can buy maintenance packages that will typically allow for 3 cleanings in a year plus spot removal.

The thing with a shampooer is that A)they only remove about 14% of the dirt and B) they leave shampoo residue in the carpet that actaully attracts dirt.

There was a really good article on it in the April (?) issue of CleanFax magazine. The Carpet and Rug Institute (CRI) used NASA technology to actually quantify the amount of dirt removed by different cleaning methods. I'll see if I can find the article and send you the link
