The pup is down for her morning nap, and I'm relaxing.
For anyone who has never experienced it, a pup is MUCH more work than a baby until he/she is house broken, and in the case of males, neutered. While human babies teeth, they don't teeth on the furniture or on you. Babies definitely never grab hold of the TP and take off running for all they're worth, and effectively TP-ing the inside of your home. Babies take longer naps, and can be entertained by a swing rather than finding, taking and hiding anything and everything they find on the floor. Babies (hopefully) don't get fleas. Babies don't have needle sharp teeth. Babies don't smell like a wet dog if they play in a bowl of water.
Boy am I hoping that Shelby settles down after we get her spayed, but I'm not going to count on it. Mostly I'm looking forward to when she looses all her milk teeth and is past the teething stage. She will still want to do the recreational chewing, but hopefully it won't be as frantic as her teething is making her.
I need a nap, but I think I'll try to get the dishes and laundry done while I don't have to keep an eagle eye on the pup!
