No matter what comes into our lives, we go on. Hubby and #2 are at a Civil Air Patrol function today, #1 is finishing up some community service, #3 is out playing with friends, and I’m relaxing (as much as that is possible with Hurricane Shelby in the house) at home.
I have a break right now as Shelby is crated with her lunch. She is having a hard time concentrating on the lunch though as she also has a marrow bone in the crate with her. She thinks she has gone to puppy heaven with this bone! I do hear the crunch of food from time to time, but mostly I hear her chewing on the bone. I’d much rather have her do that than chew on the furniture or any of us!
Hubby has a friend at work that has Brittany's also. We may be going out to his place today to admire his dogs and let him admire Shelby. He has 20 acres about a half hour drive from here that he is in the process of building a home on. While the home is being built they are living in a smallish manufactured home.
I got a chuckle from Hubby. Despite us living in the beautiful new dream home we had built for us, he is now day dreaming about buying a lot like this gentleman has and building our retirement home on it. We both have spoken for years about wanting a retirement home that is a one level home. We feel it would be best to not have to deal with stairs as we grow old.
Maybe someday; until then, I’m going to continue to enjoy our new home!
I’m starting to get excited about school again. I will be signing up for (hopefully) two classes next term. An English class Monday/Wednesday from 5:00 – 7:40 and a Computer class Tuesday/Thursday from 7:50 – 10:30. I say hopefully because apparently there is some question as to whether or not there is an instructor for the English class. I certainly hope so. If not my only other option is a Studies in Film on Saturday from 8:00 – 1:00, and I really don’t want to do a Saturday class until the kids are older and a bit more trustworthy to leave home alone for that long for the times Hubby has to work weekends.
I still haven’t found my checkbook, but I also haven’t gone through the boys rooms. Every time I intend to do that, something comes up and I get distracted from it. I’m beginning to empathize with how the kids are with their ADHD. I seem to stay on track until I spot something shiny, then the gig is up.
While I don’t think I will actually do it, I still talk with Hubby from time to time about me going back to work part time. Nothing major, or anything that is demanding. Just something to bring in a couple hundred extra bucks a month. When I will be taking two classes in the school I will be attending, it will cost me $1200, and my GI Bill check is just over $1000. It would be nice to have something coming in to cover the extra tuition, and maybe also cover books. I’ll keep talking about it. Maybe I’ll even do something about it eventually.
Not today though.

- From:TxSweets (Legacy)On:Sat Sep 17 2005Oh I miss school! I do enjoy you. Hopefully, when we're settled again, and hubby is back at home with us, I'll be able to enroll in a couple of classes at a time. The last time I was in school, I was taking 8 hours and working full time. But I didn't have the kiddos to deal with at the same time.
Eventually, though. :)
Hope you find that checkbook soon! *L* - From:Pragmatist (Legacy)On:Sun Sep 18 2005If you find your checkbook, would you send mine back to me? I think they ran off together.
