It was a good view, but I think next year I’m going to find somewhere in the mountains to camp and watch it from.
We also managed to do some hiking on Saturday at the Dungeness Spit. We didn’t hike out to the lighthouse like I wanted as Hubby was fighting a headache, but we got down to the beach and poked around in the driftwood and rocks for about a half an hour or so. I’d like to go back and do the full hike. I want everyone to feel good the day we do it, and I’d like some shoes that will be a little more supportive so my feet are not quite so tender the next day.
We also went through the Olympic Game Farm while we were out and about Saturday. We didn’t opt for the loaf of bread to tempt a Yak to stick its head into the van for a treat; maybe next time. The kids had a blast in the petting zoo part of it. Nothing exotic, but #2 took a liking to a little speckled chicken who was eating out of his hand. #3 spent his time trying to coerce a couple rabbits to let him get close to them, and #1 butt heads with a kid. Goat kid that is.
We had talked about going camping sometime in the next two weeks also. Hubby is off for that time, but his ever-growing to-do list is crowding out another camping trip this year.
Which reminds me, I have to go buy a couple gallons of house paint for some trim work we want to get done while he has the time off.
