It's Done

The fence. Hubby and the boys finished the fence on Friday, and Hubby hung the gate Saturday. That is done. Now I can give him the Honey Do list. We already know that as soon as we can figure how to get the lumber for my raised gardens home (2" X 12" X 16' just won't fit in a pickup that only has a 6' bed) we will be putting those in, and then I can get my veggies out of their starting pots and into the ground!

Speaking of said seeds... all the peas and beans have good growth and are only about a week away from being big enough to transplant, and one of the many spinach has bravely risen to the occasion, but I'm still waiting for signs of life from everything else. They are all happily "cooking" on the porch either in my mini-green house or in the handy little starting "kits" just waiting to burst forth and greet the world, unaware that they will be eaten when the time is right.

Poor little unsuspecting veggies... heh-heh-heh!

Indigo enjoyed the weekend a great deal. With the fence being up she was able to be out and not on a leash for the first time since the move. She got her tired old bones riled up and ready to romp until she discovered that parts of the grass were still sopping wet. The look of disgust on her face was classic and she daintly walked off the grass, picking her feet up high to try to keep them as dry as possible. Silly dog! I made it up to her with the zoom groom and she loved every minute of that, even if it wasn't romping. After that she seemed to have decided that curled up on her chair with her warm blanket was much better than the wet grass.

The visit with Mom and Dad went well. They ended up not getting here until around 7 last night, but since they didn't have to leave here until 5 this afternoon to catch their flight home we had a good day running around and visiting with them. While on the visit here they got us a new grill as a house warming gift. It is beautiful and much more than we ever expected, and boy were we grateful. Hubby particularly. Our current grill is not a gas one, and he and the boys get impatient waiting for the coals to be ready before putting the meat on. He got it put together this evening and sat gazing adoringly at it for about a half hour before heading to bed. Of course, he may have been gazing at the several power tools he used to put it together. It's hard to tell... All I know is that hearing him humming to himself and occasionally doing a Tim-Allen type of grunt was the tell tale sign that he was thoroughly enjoying himself.
