This and That
Tue Jan 04 2005

Well, #1 has discovered that disagreeing with people, and arguing extensively has consequences. He has been kicked off the swim team.

The sad part is that he absolutely loved it. There is no apparent reason for the arguments he was giving, other than he wanted to disagree about something. Maybe he will have learned something from this and next time learn to hold his tongue.

Not literally of course. Though that may work too!

We should hear something about Rocky this morning. I hope I'm here when the call comes in. Between a couple doctor appointments and various other errands I will likely be gone most of the day. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that he has a case of the doggy flu and not something more serious.

This morning it is back to the usual weekday routine. The boys all were reluctant to get up, are dragging their feet, and bickering among themselves whenever they get within earshot of each other. Boy do I hope that this is something they grow out of!

I need to go sign up for my class today. According to the school website, classes don't start until next week. I had a dream last night that they started tonight and I was unable to find the text book for the class. It really sucked!

OK, off to encourage the boys to move more quickly and quietly. It should be interesting.

I hope that he DOES learn that disagreeing for disagreeing sake is a BIG FAT WASTE of time!

Wow, that's a valuable bit of life information!

Oh no! I hate to hear that, but it surely is a valuable lesson to learn. If only it wasn't the swim team!

Oh, I'm So sorry.... poor Rocky, poor you.

Our faithful friends can only stay with us for a season. . . It's the hardest thing about loving a pet, knowing you will most likely outlive them...

    ((( hugs )))

Some times drastic things have to happen in order for someone to learn a valuable lesson. Hopefully he has learned that lesson.

I'm so so sorry to hear that Rocky didn't make it. I know how painful it is to lose a family pet. All you can do though is believe that he is in a wonderful happy place and when you go you will meet up again and once again be together. May he rest in peace.

Just yesterday my 5-year-old was playing in her room, and I was listening to her conversations with her imaginary friends--she was meeting our dog, Princess, in Heaven--her voice filled with joy and surprise as she ran down the hall to greet her dear-departed pet. It broke my heart. I miss Princess, too--so very, very much. Regan packed my Christmas present to myself (one of those stuffed "Big-Nosed" Dogs that resembled Princess) in my suitcase when I went out of town last week because she "just knew I would want to have Princess with me while I was away."

It is such an awful fate to be faced with. My thoughts are with you during this difficult time. They aren't "just dogs" after all...

    I like that Rainbow Bridge.
I can't wait to see my other baby that is there.

I'm so sorry that you lost Rocky. There have been so many of us here this year who have lost beloved pets we really do understand.

They will grow out of it. It's a rather strange thing to realize one day, that not only do you get along better with your siblings once you don't have to live with them, but as you get older, you actually admire them and are proud of them - and openly admit it.

    The day will come.

    I'm sorry about Rocky.
