Pending Election Results
Wed Nov 03 2004

I can’t say I’m surprised that numbers are still being crunched this morning in the presidential campaign. Things were so close yesterday as the numbers started coming in, and it only makes sense that there are too many people that don’t want a repeat of the indecision from 4 years ago. Now I can’t help but wonder how many lawsuits the Democrats will file for recounts in the states that were so close.

Speaking of lawsuits… with all the reports of voting booth tampering this morning, I’ve little doubt that this will be the subject of several of the lawsuits. It makes me wonder how much longer until all states go to only voting by mail. Whether it be hanging chads or booth tampering, there seems to be more problems than not with the booths.

It makes me sick that #1 People feel the need to tamper with or disrupt an election in one way or another...what is gained by that?

and #2 That canidates feel the need to sue themselves into a position of power...what then would be the point of election?

The whole thing stresses me out. I just want it to be done and over with already.

I'm glad it's done. Either way I wouldn't have ever got health care or financial aid for school that didn't end in the term loan. I'll still be well below the poverty level income wise too. There wasn't any hope of that changing in the last four years and not much hope of that changing in the next 4. So on with life.

I just hope that this time around terrorism isn't used as a scare tactic to make people complacent.

I'm in a state of mourning. I can't sit shiva for 4 years, but that's where I'll be mentally.

However...if in four years the budget is balanced, and I'm not even asking for a surplus, just a balance, and if Iraq is settled, and if we have the world's respect again....

and if he keeps his word about no draft....

and if Social Security is NOT privatized....

and if the Constitution isn't tampered with....

(and this is just a start)

...then I'll apologize to the Bushies

    In the meantime,,,,,

    Pray!

Yeah, Christmas is coming around so fast isn't it?!
We don't have Thanksgiving here in Australia, so everyone's on their 'losing weight for Christmas diets' now, only to put it all back on in December! :)
Hugh Jackman is a way cool spunk ;)

My thought always has been that mental illness is a contributing factor to bad behaviours but not an excuse for them. You know?

I also think, rather unpopularly, that teachers today would rather have the parents dope their children up with drugs rather than doing their job and it makes me mad. Adhd kids existed back before they had medications and it seemed that classes and school survived just fine. I think a factor in the teachers not doing everything is that parents sue the school districts now everytime a kid gets yelled at.

I think adhd kids and adults (i'm an adult adhd person) are great and highly intelligent. You'll never find a person that can process imformation faster than one of us. By the time a problem has been presented we already have a solution and one back up plan because our brain is multi-tasking and a very rapid speed.

I'm not medicated never have been for that. I have had to force myself to pay attention. Adhd is as much about brain chemistry as it is about learning to make choices and do some impulse control. And when it causes anger and frustration for the kid anger management classes help. I took them and now I'm way better off. Child psychologists offer them.

But that is my really rambley commment. I just hope you feel a little better after reading it. Just remember someday your kid's problem now is going to change into a gift later on. :)
