Three Hours and Counting
Wed Oct 20 2004

The plumbers have been here for three hours, and I think might be getting close to solving the mystery of the clog monster. The line was first snaked then once they determined approximately how far it was, a little camera was sent down to take a gander at it.

Originally a clog was found 52 feet out from the house consisting of “gunk” (the maintenance guy swears this is the technical term for it). That got cleared, but lots of other debris was backed up past that, so they kept looking, and at 70 feet out they found a snarl of tree roots big enough to choke an elephant. That is what they are working on now so (hopefully) I don’t have to call them back out again in a few days.

Herein lies the dilemma. The houses in my neighborhood are scheduled to be torn down in the next couple years, and Uncle Sam quite honestly does not want to put any serious money into something that will be leveled in the near future.

While I can’t say that I blame him, it makes living in these units entertaining to say the least.

I had hoped that this would all be done by this time today so I could try and get the laundry and dishes done before Hubby gets home tonight, but that isn’t going to happen. We have no clean dishes as I haven’t been able to do dishes since Monday morning, so I’m not exactly sure what I’m going to do for dinner. Pizza is looking really good right about now!
