Fair Day
Mon Sep 13 2004

Today is the day that Hubby plays hooky from school and we head out to the Fair after sending the kids to school. We will spend our day enjoying all the aspects of the Fair that bore the kids to death, eating Fair food that is unlike food found anywhere else, and bemoan our indigestion for the rest of the week. What better way to spend a day?

We will be picking the kids up after school and heading back out to let them enjoy the things they enjoy, then coming home for all of us to collapse into bed exhausted.

We look forward to this day all year long. It has been a tradition for us every year we have lived up here. The Fair is a tradition that we have built into our lives, and that we cherish every year. While we usually try to hit the Fair on military appreciation day, which enables Hubby and I to get in for free. The schools always give the kids tickets for free admission, so on our Fair day all we pay for is food and rides. This, of course, makes it MUCH easier on the pocket book! The $45 we save in admission is used for play money, always a bonus!

I do have homework left to do, and a quiz to study for tomorrow night. After this last weekend of a phlegm induced comatose state, I have a lot to catch up on. I’m confident I can get it all in tomorrow though. I was able to do some homework yesterday after I fully woke up. My notes have been copied, and some homework has been done. Now I just need to finish up the homework and study the quiz material. Yippie!

There is nothing like a head cold to make you all muddle-headed and generally cranky. Too bad it had to be during Hub's return and birthday, but now you can have fun.

I used to enjoy Fairs, but I have too much trouble with all the walking one has to do to appreciate everything Fairs have to offer. And the rides...no thank you. The merry-go-round is my top speed. ;-)

    So have fun!!!

Wow, fair day. I haven't thought about the fair in years. I haven't been to the state fair since high school band competitions. And I can never talk hubby into the county fair. Ah me. Maybe next year I should just go by myself. Then I'll get to spend my share and his on rides and games. ;-)

    Window sills.........
    VERY good idea.
We only have the textured sheet rock kind and they are nasty to clean. And in fact some of them are hopeless.

Hey, great news on the foundation!

What a wonderful way to enjoy the fair. The best of both worlds! Glad you had a great day.

Were I to be fortunate enough to be building a new home, I would opt for wood floors throughout. With area rugs to define spaces.

Except kitchen and bath, of course.

    I love wood, and it's allergen-free!

Very cool about the house getting underway. I remember when we got started. It was very exciting to watch every thing come together.

Post the floor plan for the upper floor. We want to see. :)
